Join us friday, September 18th, from 7 PM at the Maker Faire Lisbon, and take part at the first screening of the documentary “Maker” in Portugal, followed by a Panel Discussion on the movie and the movement itself.
Dale Dougherty is the founder and CEO of Maker Media, Inc. and Maker Faire, which was held first in the San Francisco Bay Area in 2006. MAKE has been the catalyst for a worldwide Maker Movement
“Maker” is a 65-minute long documentary that dives deep into the manufacturing and design ecosystem in the Internet era. It has been screened at more than 300 events across 40 countries and inspired tens of thousands, representing a timely snapshot on the Maker Movement, often called the “Third Industrial Revolution”, and the impact it had on different aspects of the American society, culture and economy. It is constructed as a series of interviews with key figures behind headline-making projects, showcasing their motivations in supporting the movement, as well as their expectations for the future.
Our special guests for the panel discussion are experts in the area of Design Thinking (Joana Mendoça – Coordinator at Starters Academy and Founder at Mentores.pt), Product Design (Pedro Gomes – Creative Director & Design Manager at Pedro Gomes Design Studio), Product Management (Antonio Alegria – Product Lead at Feedzai) and Product Making (Celso Martinho – General Manager and Co-founder at SAPO).
If you’re planning to attend the movie screening and afterwards panel discussion (which we think you absolutely should), please remember that you need to get both your free Maker Faire Lisbon ticket, and register for the Productized Talk.
