João Duarte presents us the Soldador de Pontos Low Cost.
It’s a metal solder made with recycled materials using a micro-waves transformer. The secondary coil is removed and in its place there’s an high gauge electrical wire. This way, the output voltage will be very low (1 or 2V) but the current will be very high (thousands of amps).
The transformer has around 2500W of power, which should be enough to get to the fusion temperature, capable of soldering the two metals together.
It’s a very interesting project, useful and easy to make.
