The Pool Live Aid is a computer vision tools designed to help amateur snooker players and beginners to predict the ball trajectories. Using a Kinect camera and a computer program, Luis Sousa and Ricardo Alves built this system that detects the snooket table walls in real time, as well as the balls (identifying them by color) on the table and the position and angle of the cue.
Using this data they use a video projector on top of the table, which projects the ball positions and their trajectory in a very visually attractive and interactive way. Watch the video and be the judge.
We think it’s awesome.
