Ricardo Alves has a degree in electronics from the Univerisidade do Algarve, works with micro-controllers and electronics and is a programmer. He’s also a member of the famous eLab Hackerspace and started working on some projects in its free time together with the Associação Jovem Sambrasense.
He’s bringing the LED Cube to the Lisbon Maker Fare, a 8x8x8 LEDs cube that can be used to scroll animations or special effects on pretty much anything, like for instance advertising. It works by using a micro-controller and a small circuit which controls the 512 LEDs. The project was made for a demo in a bar and sounds pretty neat to us.
